Course
We'll be using the same 5K course as in recent years. Terrain will be fairly even with a short-cut grass trail and a sparse amount of gravel spots. Spikes are recommended. Course will be marked at the first and second miles. Please know that there might be a few areas with rough footing, especially in the 2nd mile. Note the map below and/or allow time for your athletes to examine the course.

Awards
Mascot “Medals” will be awarded to top 20 finishers in each race. If a race reaches 150 entries we will expand to top 25.
Cookie Cake “Trophies” will be awarded to top two teams in each race.

Meet Official
Larry Cleair will be serving as our meet official and starter.
Timing
Big River Race Management will be handling the meet timing and results once again.
Scoring
Timing will be done by Big River Race Management. Results will be available on their website and will also be posted on AthleticNet. Points will be awarded to the top 7 runners. All others will be ignored. Team scores will be determined on the top 5 from each finishing team.

Heat/Weather
Even with later start times, our meet tends to be hot. If the forecast looks exceptionally warm, we may reduce the race distance and will notify coaches of any changes. We know this might be the first 5K of the season for some teams. PLEASE do not race any athletes that are not prepared for competition. We will do everything in our power to run the meet that evening, but not at the risk of anyone’s health.
Facilities
Tents are welcome. Restrooms will be available.
Medical Staff
EMTs will be on standby. An athletic trainer will also be on site.
Water
Water will be provided to racers at the finish line. Teams may provide water elsewhere on the course in compliance with NFHS rules.
Concessions
We are hoping to have food trucks back again. There will be also be a concession stand with limited snacks and drinks available with cash only purchase. Coaches and bus drivers will receive a complimentary meal from Stonie's Sausage Shop.
Shirts
A limited number of short-sleeve shirts will be available for direct purchase at the meet for $15. Sales on site are cash only.
